Over many years there has been much confusion about one of Belle Isle's many institutions: the Casino. this is not a gambling casino, but instead uses that old sense of the term, a spot for "public entertainments." This Casino has been used for this purpose since the original structure was built in the 1880s, serving as a gathering area for Detroiters for generations.
The first building being called the Casino was integrated 1887, as Belle Isle was being changed into a municipal park. It was constructed to keep events, bazaars, and things of that nature, which its successor was designed to do at the same time. The original building burnt down noisy . 1900s.
The original building was replaced in 1907 with a building developed by the firm of Van Leyen and Schilling. This building has continued for everyone its function successfully for more than 10 years now, as well as future seems to become secure well into the future, in spite of the problems that Belle Isle has received in recent poker card worth years.
